I’ve come to the conclusion that blogs are like shoes. One pair might have the right fit, but once you practice those runway walks between the rows you feel all clumsy and uncomfortable. Or the style looks damned good in the box, but on your petite size 7’s, okay fine size 8’s, they look blocky and three times larger than they really are. Then there are the trusty shoes you loved so much that wore practically every day for a year, but eventually they ended up buried somewhere in a dark recess of your closet. A few months later you notice your toddler tromping around in the forgotten pair and you think, "Hey, those were cozy; I’ll slip ’em on," only to find that your 8’s are now 9’s and your once-favorite pair just don’t feel right anymore.
Over the years I’ve written a little here and there. Those were good fits while they lasted, but now I’ve outgrown them. Those blogs were written for relatively narrow topics with not much room to delve into other areas of my life. I’ve tried on a couple of blogs since then and after one or two entries, those just weren’t working for me, either. I hope that this one will. Because damn, I’m a little tired of trying on blogs.
