A New Day

I wanted to get this post up last night, but I was too busy rolling around in my bed feeling miserable and whining to Frank for a massage. I fell asleep before I could get it (I think he was counting on that), so he's in debt and will have to pay up today. I am feeling LOTS better; if anything I'm feeling a bit gassy, but the gut-clenching nausea, chills, and body aches have all gone away. Thanks for the well-wishes. With any luck, I'll be hunched over the toilet trying to keep my stomach from flipping inside out in about three weeks for a much better reason.

It's a new day for me, and I hope you'll go help make A New Day for one special blogger today.Copied shamelessly from Busted Babymaker's blog:

… Allison lost her twins, Lennox and Zoe, to prematurity. They were born just a few days older than our Doodles, and sweet Zoe lived for 3 weeks. Unfortunately, wordpress, the site Allison uses for her blogs, tracks her "best day ever" – the post with the most hits. As I'm sure you can guess, currently her "best day ever" on both blogs is the day Zoe died.

So, on May 29, 2008, we are trying to get as many people as possible to click on Allison's blogs and create a new "best day ever" – hence the title, "A New Day".

Please visit both of Allison's blogs at Our Own Creation and  Sweet Zoe. According to Allison's update at Our Own Creation, the goal was reached this morning at 2:50am. Click to your heart's content over at Sweet Zoe, and it can't hurt to keep clicking on Our Own Creation, either.

Paula Abdul's old song "Promise of a New Day" keeps coming to mind:

Eagle's calling
And he's calling your name.
Tides are turning bringing winds of change.
Why do I feel this way –
The promise of a new day.

The promise
The promise of a new day.
As thru time
The earth moves
Under my feet,
One step closer
To make love complete.
What has the final say –
The promise of a new day.

And so time over time
What will change the world.
No one knows
So the only promise
Is a day to live, to give
And share with one another.
See the wisdom
From mistakes in our past,
Hear the younger
Generation ask –
Why do I feel this way?
The promise of a new day.

And so time over time
What will change the world
No one knows
So the only promise
Is a day to live, to give
And share with one another.

I hope and pray that today brings with it the promise of a new day for Allison.

  1. I am so glad that you feel better. Thank you so much for your comment. I love the “tap in, tap out” analogy. You have reminded me that I should be patient for what He has in mind for me.

  2. I’m oh-so-slowly trying to thank as many people as I can for helping out in May. I can’t tell you how amazing it is that you and so many others pitched in to help me change that date. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

  3. This is such a sad, yet hopeful post. I’m pleased to read that Allison’s blogs got the hits they needed to give her a new best day. Even a year and a half later, I can only imagine the pain she is still going through. The song is beautiful and speaks to a better tomorrow.

  4. Hi, I’m here thanks to Blogger Bingo – too late to be part of reaching the goal but happy to know the project was successful! I’m adding this act of kindness to the list of amazing shows of support I have seen this community offer one of its members. It’s about #2694, I think. 🙂
