In her own words…

Remember, English is Mia's third language. I can hear her chirpy little accent even in her writing and I love it…

Hello Moxie,
well, rollercoaster is a cradle in comparison to
what we have experienced!
Yesterday evening, all of a sudden, I got a
menstruation like strong bleeding. We were so depressed! We called the clinic and
Dr. Smotrich told Urs that 50 % of his patients do have that. He told us to
double the Progesterone in oil and then to go to my doctor for ultrasound and
blood work today. I was crying a lot in the night!
And then, this morning the ultrasound showed an
intact pregnancy with heart beat! In the ultrasound everything looks good. It is
a singleton!
Woaw! I really did not expect that this
morning!
My gynaecologist was very helpful. They also drew
blood for the hormone levels. The progesterone and the estradiol are very high,
and the beta is over 25 ooo with a double rate of 3.3. The doctor from the lab
said that this is ok.

Whew! So this is the news!
My doctor and Dr. Smotrich say that I should take
it easy today- so today is another couch potato day for me.

When is your next lining check again? I keep thinking of
you- please keep me updated!

Until soon,
Love and Hugs
Mia

Please continue to keep Mia, Urs, and their little one in your continued thoughts and prayers.

What a scare for them! My heart sank when I read this. Let this little bean thrive and meet it’s parents 8 months from now.

Yikes. I also had a most unpleasant subchorionic bleed. Any chance they saw evidence of that on the u/s? Would certainly put her mind at rest if they could visualize it — she’d also know if she continues to bleed.
Will keep her in my thoughts.

Oh how scary! I’m glad they were able to detect a heartbeat though and I hope that their little one continues to grow strong. I’ll be sending good thoughts!

Definitely in my thoughts. Hoping this is the one and only scare that kid provides…until it’s born, at least.

Oh how scary for them! Perhaps 2 stuck and 1 was lost? Thinking of them.

  11. Moxie on January 13, 2009 at 10:26 pm

That’s my thought exactly, K. Hopefully the other will hang on.

Mia didn’t mention an SCH and I’m fairly sure that she doesn’t know enough about the potential of such a problem to have asked. I do hope that this is the end of the bleeding. I nearly had a heart attack this morning.

What a scare – but blessed be that their little one seems to be a fighter. I’m thinking like you and K77 that they might have had 2 and 1 was unfortunately lost…
But way to go little Mia/Urs 🙂
I will keep them in my prayers.
