Sock it to each other

You guys are awesome. There are just over 60 participants in the sock exchange, and it's even gone international with bloggers from Canada, Australia, and Japan playing along. This has been so much fun to organize and arrange, and I've had fun clicking around through blogs that were new to me. Check out the participant list and click through to a few of the blogs that you've never been to before. There are lots of wonderful voices to be heard there and a few who are new to the blogging community. If you are a participant and do not see your blog listed (or mention of your name if you are a non-blogger), please leave me a comment and I'll get you added to the list ASAP.

A special thank you and shout out goes to the roller derby sarcastic fantastic Nancy, whose last-minute sock exchange post and "killer" graphic design skills led to 12 new participants joining in yesterday.

Majority of the match information was sent out on Saturday afternoon. If you signed up late Saturday evening or on Sunday, your match information will be sent to you this evening. I did all of my sock correspondence through my Yahoo account, and the powers that be here at the school system have blocked out access to all free email accounts. Therefore, I have to wait until I get home this evening to send out the rest of the matches.

I looked all weekend for a pair of socks with a particular graphic on them and didn't find what I was looking for. Finally last night with a half-asleep spark of Aha!, I got the idea to look for iron-on patches of the graphic I wanted. I checked eBay and lo and behold, someone has a whole store of iron-on patches (who woulda thunk it!) and had 5 of the patches I wanted in-stock. I ordered two of them then went to search the sock websites for the perfect pair of striped knee socks. My sock buddy (who I will keep a secret until she gets her socks) will be the recipient of semi-homemade socks. I think even I can handle pressing an iron to a pair of socks.

So tell me – how's it going so far with your sock progress? Have you
been to visit your sock buddy's blog yet? Found socks? Are you just
having fun so far looking at various websites for funky socks?

I'm really excited about this project. Like ***JAZZ HANDS*** excited.

You said Jazz Hands! *peewee’s playhouse moment*
I ordered the socks for my buddy last night and having them direct mailed to her. I hope she takes the joke as intended and doesn’t try to harm me!
BTW could I pretty please get your address so I can send you a hostess gift? I swear I’m not a stalker and I haven’t stepped foot in GA in 15 years!

I also was surprised by how many socks there are to be found.

Moxie I’m sure you’ve got your hands full, but if you get a minute, I don’t see my name on the list (probably because I’m a last minute addition which is totally understandable!). I’ll be representing for Japan!
    I can’t wait!

12 came from my post??? RIGHT ON!!! I’m hyped.
I’ve been reading my buddy’s blog to try to get a handle on what she’s like. Of course she’s getting a pair od derby over-the-knee socks, but the color is what I’m still wondering about.
“killer” graphic design skills. You’re damned right!
