You guys are awesome. There are just over 60 participants in the sock exchange, and it's even gone international with bloggers from Canada, Australia, and Japan playing along. This has been so much fun to organize and arrange, and I've had fun clicking around through blogs that were new to me. Check out the participant list and click through to a few of the blogs that you've never been to before. There are lots of wonderful voices to be heard there and a few who are new to the blogging community. If you are a participant and do not see your blog listed (or mention of your name if you are a non-blogger), please leave me a comment and I'll get you added to the list ASAP.
A special thank you and shout out goes to the roller derby sarcastic fantastic Nancy, whose last-minute sock exchange post and "killer" graphic design skills led to 12 new participants joining in yesterday.
Majority of the match information was sent out on Saturday afternoon. If you signed up late Saturday evening or on Sunday, your match information will be sent to you this evening. I did all of my sock correspondence through my Yahoo account, and the powers that be here at the school system have blocked out access to all free email accounts. Therefore, I have to wait until I get home this evening to send out the rest of the matches.
I looked all weekend for a pair of socks with a particular graphic on them and didn't find what I was looking for. Finally last night with a half-asleep spark of Aha!, I got the idea to look for iron-on patches of the graphic I wanted. I checked eBay and lo and behold, someone has a whole store of iron-on patches (who woulda thunk it!) and had 5 of the patches I wanted in-stock. I ordered two of them then went to search the sock websites for the perfect pair of striped knee socks. My sock buddy (who I will keep a secret until she gets her socks) will be the recipient of semi-homemade socks. I think even I can handle pressing an iron to a pair of socks.
I'm really excited about this project. Like ***JAZZ HANDS*** excited.
