Perfect Moment Monday ~ Oh, Christmas Tree

There are no blanket right answers when it comes to continued communication
after the close of a surrogacy journey; it is all about what is right
for the individual journeys. Many surrogates and intended parents have an open door policy for an ongoing, lifelong friendship. Others agree that there will be little to no contact after delivery. No matter how much or how little, the level of communication that is
expected after a journey should be openly discussed before a journey ever takes place, and both parties should agree to match only with someone who is on the same page. Unfortunately, some surrogates who are promised ongoing contact to any degree never again see the children they helped bring into the world. They don’t expect to be completely and wholly intertwined in their lives, but seeing as how it is a family that we aim to help create, it would be nice if surrogates aren’t ever left to wonder how those families are doing. Thankfully, I don’t have to:

  1. I love the sight of a little one decorating the Christmas tree. It must be beautiful to have that ongoing connection with Baby M and his family. Truly perfect!

  2. Moxie it is wonderful.
You know it cuts both ways, though. I’d love to see what my kids’ halfsibs look like right now. Haven’t seen a pic since the boys were like a year old. Haven’t seen their halfsibs since their 1st bday.
Of course, we continue to roll on, with integrity…
Love love love that both sides of your journey had the integrity!
    hugs the grey lady!

  3. Awwww πŸ™‚ Love the picture of you and Baby M!
Pee Ess, you said to let you know when I started a blog, so um *coughs delicately and points to URL*

  4. What a cutie – I imagine that, even with El Cinco, life would feel a tiny bit incomplete without Baby M in it. Glad you are able to spend time with him and his family.

  5. I can always remember how old he is because he was born exactly one week after Allison! He is getting so big, and it seems like he (and Allison) were born just the other day. I’m glad that you are able to have an open relationship with the family. I hope to have a good relationship after my journey, but I’m not 100% sure how often I will get to see my surrofamily, considering how far away they live!

  6. I’m visiting from my sister’s blog, Weebles Wobblog’s Perfect Moment Mondays post.
That is an awesome picture of the two of you and I love to see a kid with “Christmas” in his eyes.
I admire your dedication to helping create families. You are a true angel. πŸ™‚
